More details have been revealed about STK Orlando, the internationally known steakhouse brand opening soon in Disney Springs.
For starters, STK now is accepting reservations, although a formal opening date has not yet been announced, said spokeswoman Maria Wyatt-Uhl. The restaurant’s reservation system shows available tables beginning May 29.
More details also have been revealed about the design. The two-story, 15,000-square-foot restaurant will be inspired by a refurbished 1900s train station, with outdoor terrace spaces, dark-wood flooring, white marble bar tops, and large banquette and booth seating. The most unique feature will be STK’s “iconic wall” that will have an array of ceramic longhorns laid out to resemble an eyelash, according to a news release. The second floor will feature a more relaxed atmosphere topped off with a fire-pit lounge.
STK announced on March 4 that James O’Donnell is the restaurant’s executive chef. His previous work includes chef roles at House of Blues in Los Angeles and Michael Jordan‘s Steakhouse in Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, among others. He will shop at local vendors for products such as corn, tomatoes, mushrooms and seasonal fruits, he told Orlando Business Journal. Although STK Orlando is part of The ONE Group’s international STK brand, O’Donnell told OBJ he plans to create dishes exclusive to Orlando. See here for a description of these exclusive dishes, and more from an interview with O’Donnell.
STK is one of the many new brands coming to Disney Springs, which is in the midst of a total revamp. Its new Town Center district, which includes shopping and dining, opened to the public on May 15.
