Universal Orlando has shared the full lineup of haunted houses and other attractions for the 2015 edition of Halloween Horror Nights, and there’s a definite flashback feel to the event, which is marking its 25th anniversary this year. This latest reveal includes returning, revamped and re-imagined scares and a show featuring popular icon Jack the Clown.
he Universal Studios event runs on 30 select nights between Sept. 18 and Nov. 1. It will feature a record nine haunted-house mazes. Among the five recently revealed are:
+ American Werewolf in London — The 1981 horror film (and 2013 haunted house) comes back to life, featuring a expanded “more ferocious” pack, Universal says.
+ Jack Presents 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem — A walk down meat-grinding memory lane.
+ Body Collectors: Recollections — The hunt for human parts visits Shadybrook Asylum.
+ Asylum in Wonderland 3D — “This time around, you’ll follow the white rabbit through the looking glass and into a murderous 3-D Wonderland”
+ Run: Blood, Sweat and Fears — Guests avoid the Reapers as part of a vicious TV show.
+ Four previously announced houses, all tied to horror franchises, include “The Purge,” “The Walking Dead,” “Freddy vs. Jason” and the “Insidious” film series.
Universal also revealed its scare zones for 2015. They include Psychoscareapy Unleashed (Halloween in New York with insane inmates), Icons: HHN (Faces from the past such as the Storyteller, the Director … and the Rat Lady?), All Nite Die-In: Double Feature (murderous theater in San Francisco), Evil’s Roots (traditional scares such as scarecrows and bats plus the
“floating” jack-o-lanterns) and Scary Tales: ScreamPunk (twisted, revised characters).
The two lives shows of the event will be “The Carnage Returns,” featuring Jack and his sidekick Chance, and HHN tradition “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure.”
