Walt Disney World will begin work on the next portion of its Disney Springs redevelopment.

Orange County records showthe theme park filed notice of commencements– documents to signify the start of work — on the Town Center portion of its Disney Springs project, which should be completed by 2016.

The Town Center is envisioned as a mixture of shopping and dining establishments that also will include areas for guests to relax. Disney has yet to announce which new retailers and restaurants will be available within the new area.

The notice of commencements detail the work as “new construction” on various packages of work at Disney Springs, as well as identify the construction team, including Walt Disney Imagineering, Orlando architecture firm VOA Associates Inc. and general contractor PCL Construction Services Inc. in Orlando.
