Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville in Universal CityWalk is planning to celebrate their namesake holiday, National Margarita Day, on Feb. 22, 2014 with an array of margarita-related activities.

As part of the celebration, the restaurant will host Margaritaville University, a complimentary margarita-making class from 3 to 4 p.m. At the university, Margaritaville bartenders will teach students how to make specialty Margaritaville margaritas. After mastering mixing, shaking, stirring and sipping, all graduates will receive a diploma.

In addition to the complimentary lessons, Margaritaville locations are inviting guests in for the second annual National Margarita Day Toast. At 5 p.m., a Master of Ceremonies will lead those gathered in a toast to the official beverage of Margaritaville.

For the fifth year, Margaritaville restaurants are encouraging their Facebook fans to participate in the national margarita recipe contest by submitting their favorite recipes. To date over 800 recipe entries have been received. The winning concoction will be served on Feb. 22 for National Margarita Day at all Margaritaville restaurant locations in the U.S.
